My darling dad
I still cant get my head around.
The fact that you’re not here,
That ill never see you smile again
Or hear you words of cheer,
I listen to your favourite songs
Yes, Jim Reeves is on my iPhone
This i know will make you laugh
Because as kids we’d always moan
It broke my heart to lose you
But you didn’t go alone
A part of me went with you
When God took you home.
I didn’t get to say goodbye
I didn’t get to kiss you
I didn’t get to tell you
Just how much I’d miss you
My life has be been in limbo
Just waiting for the day
When we get to say Goodbye
And sent you on your way.
Not long Dad, till Thursday
I know I’ll shed a tear
But also lots of lovely memories
To a Dad who’s very dear.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
